26 arrested in ID-theft raids at Pei Wei Asian Diner restaurants

Maricopa County sheriff’s deputies arrested 26 people during a search of several Pei Wei Asian Diner locations Friday as part of an identity-theft investigation.

Deputies arrested six of 12 employees at one restaurant on the corner of Seventh Street and Glendale Avenue in Phoenix. Other arrests were made at Pei Wei locations in Fountain Hills and Tempe and the corporate office in Scottsdale. The Fountain Hills restaurant, located near Shea Boulevard and Eagle Mountain Parkway, was closed Friday afternoon.

The Sheriff’s Office is searching the restaurants as well as the corporate offices for records related to employees suspected of identity theft.
