Annual In-Store Fundraiser Kicks Off August 20 to Raise Money for The Arby’s Foundation and its Partnership with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® Campaign
Atlanta, GA (RestaurantNews.com) Arby’s restaurants nationwide are coming together to call on customers to help end childhood hunger in America. Beginning today through September 30, Arby’s will collect money for the Arby’s Foundation and its mission to end childhood hunger through a partnership with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. The goal of the in-store fundraiser is to raise $2.5 million.
Customers who donate $1 will receive a pin-up pledge to sign and hang on the walls of the restaurant to show their support. As a thank you for their donations, customers will receive a coupon for one free Value Menu item with the purchase of a sandwich.
“We have a huge problem right here in our own backyards that tends to go unnoticed,” said Hala Moddelmog, president, Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. “Childhood hunger is a silent epidemic with more than 16 million children struggling to find meals. We feel it’s imperative that we step up to get involved and help drive a change.”
Arby’s has been actively involved with the No Kid Hungry campaign since 2011. From May through August of this year, the Arby’s Foundation took to the road during an 8,000 mile, 15-city Hungry For Happiness tour to raise awareness about childhood hunger and connect kids to one million more meals during the vulnerable summer months.
Arby’s is the largest quick service restaurant chain to partner in a nationwide effort with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, and contributed more than $2.2 million to its mission in 2011. In 2011, Arby’s introduced a new Kids Meal featuring wholesome choices parents can feel good about serving their children.
