Riverside, CA  (RestaurantNews.com)  Farmer Boys announced today that Kenny Hom joins the company as Vice President of Operations. Kevin Kelly, formerly VP of Operations, will take on the newly created role of Vice President of Development.

“With our focus on growth, Farmer Boys needs a VP of Development,” said President/COO Ken Clark, “Since Kevin has been involved in the process of opening new restaurants, restaurant remodels and new prototype development, he was the perfect candidate to fill this important role. This created an opening for a VP of Operations.”

Hom comes to Farmer Boys with over twenty five years of restaurant industry experience in operations. The executive team selected Hom because of his depth of experience and achievements with other restaurant brands.

As the VP of Operations, Hom will be responsible for both company and franchise restaurant operations. Hom will also play a key role in defining the strategic direction for Farmer Boys and will oversee its execution in the field.

As part of his training, Hom is spending two months in the restaurants to learn the extensive preparation and cooking processes that differentiate Farmer Boys from other concepts.

“Farmer Boys is known for its superior products. A lot of work goes into the scratch preparation and made to order cooking process. Hospitality is also a key element of the brand.  I am eager to learn the current processes and continue to provide an enjoyable experience for customers and employees alike,” said Hom.

Hom has held numerous leadership positions with Red Robin International, Islands Restaurants, and California Pizza Kitchen at which he was successful in developing review processes to evaluate the execution of the strategic plan and where he established development programs for management candidates and employees.

Hom received his bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Southern California.
