With 12 new franchise agreements signed and two restaurants opened in the first half of the year, the franchisor is anticipating opening a total of 14 new locations and signing a total of 35 new franchise agreements by the end of the year.

“Eleven of our signed agreements were for The Brass Tap,” explained Chris Elliott, CEO. “Throughout the year, we will be expanding in Georgia, Texas, California, Maryland and Pennsylvania, breaking into new markets like Marina and Hollister, California; Fort Worth, Texas; Marietta, Georgia; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.”

The Brass Tap has also seen strong results from digital mass media promotions, which are working to increase brand visibility and awareness around its new product offerings, pizzas and hot sub sandwiches. With corporate store margins exceeding 15%, which is indicative of how individual units should be performing, The Brass Tap is laying a strong foundation for the newly signed owners.

Beef ‘O’ Brady’s has seen remarkable success, with comp sales increasing nearly 6% through June — an impressive achievement rolling over 5% comps in 2022. Elliott attributes a substantial portion of this growth to the Brand’s 10 for $10 promotion, which presents a varied suite of 10 meals, incorporating fan favorites like wings and burgers, for just $10.

“10 for $10 works really hard because it” appeals to the single diner as well as the family crowd,” said Elliott. The price point makes it appealing at lunch and dinner. There is enough variety for everyone to find something they like. The promotion has all of these things going for it that make it work.”

System-wide, FSC Franchise Co. has implemented new back-of-house technology that helps ensure food costs and labor are managed efficiently to ideal targets based on sales. FSC is also considering the implementation of artificial intelligence to support a high volume of takeout orders that many locations experience, as well as at-table checkout kiosk options to relieve a bit of pressure from servers.

Looking to the future, Elliott said the future for both brands is exciting.

“We’ve done 12 deals this year, but we have another 28 hot leads, so we expect to do between 35 and 40 deals this year,” he added. “That would put our Beef ‘O’ Brady’s pipeline at about 12 units and The Brass Tap pipeline at around 85 locations by the end of the year. We have positive average unit volume trends, margins are improving, we’re opening new stores and the pipeline is growing. Everything looks really, really good.”
