Fuzzy’s Taco Shop Invites Guests to Join in 10th Anniversary Celebration by Feeding Hungry Kids
Restaurant rolls out special offers, souvenir cups, Vine video campaign in July
Fort Worth, TX (RestaurantNews.com) Fans of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop might be surprised that the wildly popular chain is celebrating its 10th anniversary in July. But they surely won’t be surprised that the fun-loving restaurant has some special twists up its sleeve to mark the occasion.
On Monday, July 1st, Fuzzy’s is launching a month-long campaign in support of Share Our Strength’s Dine Out For No Kid Hungry™ campaign to end childhood hunger in America. Customers at more than 65 participating restaurants nationwide will be invited to make a $1.00 donation to feed hungry kids. In return, Fuzzy’s will provide a bounce-back voucher good for one free taco on the customer’s next visit.
In addition, Fuzzy’s will encourage its social media followers to create short, fun, Fuzzy’s-themed Vine videos. For every video uploaded to the Vine app or to Twitter with the hashtag #fuzzys4nokidhungry, Fuzzy’s will donate 10 meals to the No Kid Hungry campaign.
The overall goal of the 10th Anniversary campaign is to raise $75,000 for the charity. Thanks to the strength of the No Kid Hungry network, every $1.00 donated equals 10 meals for hungry kids. This is the first year Fuzzy’s has supported the campaign, which is organized by Share Our Strength, a national not-for-profit organization that works to ensure that no child in America grows up hungry.
“We decided months ago that we would use our anniversary celebration to give back to the communities that have embraced Fuzzy’s so warmly over the last 10 years,” said Chuck Bush, chief executive of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. “We strongly support the exceptional work being done by Share Our Strength because we believe it’s a travesty that any child in America would not know where his or her next meal is coming from. With our customers’ help, this campaign will provide more than 750,000 meals for these kids. We think that’s a goal everyone can get onboard with.”
Known for its generous helpings of uniquely flavorful Baja-style Mexican fare, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop has become an overnight sensation in the restaurant industry. Fuzzy’s menu features its original take on the Baja taco, which is often referred to as “addictive” thanks to the garlic sauce and feta cheese that makes it so distinctive. The restaurant also serves a wide array of handmade enchiladas, jumbo salads, nachos, burritos and its signature chips and queso. Fuzzy’s is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and most locations offer a generous selection of beer, wine, margaritas and other specialty drinks.
With a knowing nod to Fuzzy’s Fanatics everywhere, the restaurant is also rolling out a silver 10th Anniversary Souvenir Cup in July, paying homage to the iconic cups that have become synonymous with the brand. As with its regular souvenir cups, the limited-edition silver cups may be brought back to any Fuzzy’s for a $0.99 refill; but the collector’s edition will only be available in-store during the month of July.
Fuzzy’s will also be selling special anniversary T-shirts, some of which feature the original logo that appeared at the first Berry Street restaurant near the TCU campus in Fort Worth.
“Ten years ago, when my father Alan and I purchased Fuzzy’s, we made a promise: To focus our full attention on promptly and efficiently providing our guests with generous helpings of uniquely flavorful foods at a fair price,” said Bush. “We’ve done our best to keep that promise every day since, so we’ll be thanking our customers for sticking with us for 10 great years, and hopefully for many many more to come!”
About Fuzzy’s Taco Shop®:
Founded near the TCU campus in Fort Worth, the original Fuzzy’s Taco Shop was purchased by Alan and Chuck Bush after just two years of operation. The father-son combination with a collective 20 years of restaurant industry experience initially took a slow, hands-on approach to running the business. They insisted on adhering to the Fuzzy’s promise: “To focus our full attention on promptly and efficiently providing our guests with generous helpings of uniquely flavorful foods at a fair price.” That promise remains central to the chain’s success today as Fuzzy’s expands across the country.
Fuzzy’s corporate-owned and franchise locations are now serving fresh, handmade Baja-style Mexican food in more than 65 stores across 11 states, with many more on the way. For more information, visit www.fuzzystacoshop.com.
