San Antonio, TX (RestaurantNews.com) Iron Cactus Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar, together with Soldiers’ Angels, are honoring wounded military dads and their families at Brooke Army Medical Center’s Fisher House in San Antonio today at 1pm. Austin-based Iron Cactus, an award-winning dining establishment, will cater the special lunch through its San Antonio Riverwalk location as a way to honor the dads who are currently recovering at the Brooke Army Medical Center with their families. Two hundred dads and their family members are expected to attend the private lunch.
“We wanted to show our appreciation for our wounded heroes who are dads especially since Father’s Day is this Sunday,” said Gary Manley, General Partner at Iron Cactus. “We are honored to cater this event for these brave men and their families who have sacrificed so much for our country.”
Iron Cactus will be serving some of its most popular Tex-Mex dishes to the injured dads and their families including its mouth-watering sizzling fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimp. Iron Cactus will also provide free appetizer cards to the families that they can use at the Iron Cactus Riverwalk.
“We are grateful for Iron Cactus’ generosity in providing lunch for our wounded dads and their families as they continue the road to recovery,” said Toby Nunn, Executive Director at Soldiers’ Angels. “We are proud of their continued commitment to helping our veterans, their spouses and children.”
Iron Cactus has always been an active supporter of veterans and active duty service men and women. At the inaugural Military River Parade at the Riverwalk during Armed Services Day on May 19th, Iron Cactus also donated a portion of its proceeds to Soldiers’ Angels.
