Johnny Carino's Charity Golf Tournament Raised More Than $150,000 for Carino's FoundationJohnny Carino’s restaurants, an Italian casual dining restaurant chain based out of Austin, Texas, held its annual charity golf tournament on October 7 and 8 at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop, Texas, which raised more than $150,000 for the Carino’s Foundation.

The Carino’s Foundation is Johnny Carino’s nonprofit, charitable giving unit, which is focused on improving the lives of those in need in the markets where there’s a Johnny Carino’s location. It uses funds raised by helping various charitable organizations and community groups.

In a press release, Creed Ford III, CEO of Johnny Carino’s said, “I, and the entire Johnny Carino’s family, are grateful and touched by the generosity of our vendors, corporate and individual sponsors that continue to support Carino’s Foundation’s mission to make a difference in the lives of those in need in the communities we serve.”

Since its inception in 1997, the Carino’s Foundation has donated about $2.7 million to various charities. Its work with charitable organizations is captured in a video that can be viewed here.

The annual charity golf tournament also serves as a venue to give out the restaurant’s Vendor of the Year award to a vendor that exceeded the company’s expectations. The award was given to Giovanni Rana, which has been instrumental in helping Johnny Carino’s bring innovative products that meet their high standards of quality to each and every guest.

According to Ford, Johnny Carino’s serves over 6 million pounds of pasta and over 800,000 bottles of wine. More information about Johnny Carino’s and its foundation can be found at http://www.carinos.com/cares/.
