Aurora, IL – Craft Urban
The Aurora City Council recently created a liquor license for the Craft Urban restaurant downtown, which is eyeing an opening in late spring. The Class D downtown core license is for on-site consumption only, and will be issued by the liquor commissioner, who is Mayor Richard Irvin. Craft Urban, which already has a restaurant in downtown Geneva, is planning to open a 5,600-square-foot place with 265 seats on two stories at 41 S. Stolp Ave.
Houston, TX – Frenchy’s Chicken
Frenchy’s Chicken – of which Houston native superstar Beyonce is a fan – will soon open a new location that’s been planned for decades, according to Eater Houston. The new spot will be located at 3602 Scott St. and is expected to open in late April or May. The location is in the final steps of the building process.
Coral Gables, FL – Fogo de Chão
Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão will open a 8,800-square-foot flagship restaurant in The Plaza Coral Gables, where it will employ 120 people. The two-story location at 2801 Ponce de Leon Blvd. will have 280 seats, an open-air churrasco bar where guests can watch gaucho chefs prepare meat entrees “over an open flame,” a trademark grab-and-go market called The Butchery, and the Next Level Lounge.
St. Louis, MO – Sado
A new sushi-focused restaurant, Sado, is set to open in fall of this year at 5201 Shaw Ave., home of now closed Giovanni’s On The Hill. Nick Bognar, chef and owner of the popular Southeast Asian restaurant iNDO, located at 1641D Tower Grove, purchased the space directly from the Giovanni family with his restaurateur parents.
Edina, MN – Sweetgreen
Sweetgreen (NYSE: SG) will first open its first location in Edina in late summer, with restaurants in Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood and on Grand Avenue in St. Paul following that, according to a spokesperson.
