“A meal away from home is the perfect timeout for a busy family,” says CEO, Cary Chessick. “These six restaurants specialize in providing the right ingredients for a family to enjoy great food and meaningful conversation.”

This month’s featured restaurants include: Mister Up’s Restaurant in Middlebury, Vt.; GameWorks in Seattle, Wash.; Giordano’s in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.; The Red Maple Restaurant in Gretna, La.; CiCi’s Italian Ristorante in Fremont, Calif.; and Felix and Oscar’s in Des Moines, Iowa.

“Since we started with, we’ve had a steady flow of new customers that tend to spend a little more,” says Rick Buck, general manager of Mister Up’s Restaurant. “Our wait staff also likes the new business, and we appreciate the customer feedback we get from’s dining survey.”

“We’ve tried all kinds of advertising the last five years, but none has been as successful as,” says Cecilia Carothers, owner (along with husband, Bob) of CiCi’s Italian Ristorante. “ brings in new patrons and introduces people to our restaurant. It’s also resulted in significant repeat business.”

Every month “Behind the Menu” focuses on a culinary theme that defines and inspires restaurants across the country, then celebrates the restaurants that bring that theme to life.
