Cary-based Ruckus Pizza, Pasta & Spirits and Raleigh’s LoneRider Brewing Company have joined forces for the “Brew It Forward III” amateur beer home-brewer competition. The contest begins February 1 and culminates at Ruckus in Cary on Saturday, March 12, 2011.
“We believe in giving people the opportunity to brew their own beer in a professional environment,” says LoneRider CEO Sumit Vorha, who explained that proceeds from sales of the victorious brew will go toward student-driven anti-poverty organization Nourish International as well as the North Carolina Home Brewers Guild.
Scheduled to run from 12-6 p.m., the March 12 event at Ruckus will feature live music and a panel of Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) judges who will determine the winner of the competition. “This event will benefit Life Experiences, Inc., which provides job opportunities for adults with disabilities,” says Ryan Pilz, managing partner at Ruckus.
