Local guests among first to glimpse Fridays’™ latest design concept
Braintree, MA (RestaurantNews.com) After much anticipation, the doors at TGI Fridays in Braintree reopened last night, revealing a new contemporary design being implemented at Fridays restaurants throughout the country. Community leaders and guests joined Fridays CEO Nick Shepherd to celebrate the reopening, check out the new look, and experience an evening of fun, fresh handcrafted cocktails and Fridays craveable appetizers.
The newly-redesigned Braintree Fridays creates a fun, energetic vibe with a dramatically redesigned bar as the focal point of the restaurant, complemented with an open kitchen that highlights favorite Fridays menu items as well as the introduction of a new line up of fresh, mouth-watering handcrafted burgers.
Timberline Construction Corp., the general contractor based in Canton, Massachusetts, completed the 7,800 square foot new open floor plan interior layout and exterior renovation. The restaurant accommodates up to 337 people and features all new modern finishes, furniture, millwork, commercial kitchen equipment and MEP Modifications. Seating features leather cushions and is a mix of movable wooden furniture and build-in booth construction. Exposed ceilings provide an industrial feel with modern design to add aesthetic value and acoustical controls, while defining the various dining areas. These elements include raised pattern metallic ceiling tiles around the bar, red floating planks around the host station waiting area and the surrounding seating, as well as floating metallic discs above the main dining area.
“Fridays’ legacy is built on providing our guests great food, top bartenders crafting the finest cocktails and a uniquely fun service experience provided by the best team in the business – an experience the people of this community love so much,” said Ricky Richardson, president and chief operating officer, TGI Fridays USA. “Now with our new look, innovative new food and drinks, and energized teams, we’re taking the Fridays experience to the next level, and we’re incredibly excited to bring this to our guests in Braintree.”
TGI Fridays has been a staple in Braintree for almost a decade. As part of the newly-renovated South Shore Place shopping center, the new Fridays will be retaining many of its original team members, which make up the approximately 130 jobs Fridays provides to the local community.
“I am excited for Fridays as they re-open their modernized restaurant,” said Mayor Joseph C. Sullivan. “Braintree and TGI Fridays will benefit with this refreshed look – and that is good for our town.”
The new redesign is tailored to the Braintree community and location, and is part of a larger re-imaging campaign that Fridays will roll out over the next three years. Boston is among the first locations to undergo the process, along with Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Miami, with all locations expected to be redesigned by the end of 2015.
TGI Fridays Braintree is located at 60 Forbes Rd. in Braintree, across from South Shore Plaza, off of Route 93.
