The Outside Inn Set to Give Away Restaurant in Essay Contest

Local owners of 23 years decide to give away their restaurant in an essay contest!

Sierra Vista, AZ  (RestaurantNews.com)  Restaurant owners David and Dawn Bain are ready to retire after 23 years in the industry. But, instead of putting a “For Sale” sign in front of their business, they decided to give it away. The Bains are holding an essay contest and the winner will be the proud new owner of the 2,000 square-foot restaurant, the acre of land it sits on, all equipment, furnishings, and the inventory on hand at the close of the contest.

Firm believers in paying it forward, the essay entrance fee is $125 and they will only accept 7,500 applicants. “My wife and I are kind of unconventional types,” says Bain. “We just want to help somebody and change someone’s life for the better…and pay it forward to someone who would never have this opportunity in their life.” In the event of essay contest cancellation, the entry fee ($125.00 US Funds) will be refunded to each entrant.

To have a chance at winning their own restaurant, entrants must:

  • Submit a 200-word or less essay answering, “Why I want to operate my own restaurant.”
  • Not identify themselves anywhere in the essay.
  • Have their submissions post-marked no later than April 30th, 2017

The Outside Inn has long been considered one of the top restaurants in Sierra Vista, a city of 50,000, that is anchored by Fort Huachuca. It is well known for it’s exceptional service, delectable food, and long-standing presence. The winner will be receiving a gem!
