Dean Ogan, owner of Rocky Top Hospitality, has announced that The Red Room Tapas Lounge has been named the best place to salsa dance and the best place to eat appetizers by Independent Weekly’s 2010 Best of the Triangle awards. The Red Room was also a finalist for best romantic restaurant. Winners are selected through readers’ polls.
The Red Room, the only Spanish-influenced tapas lounge in downtown Raleigh, transforms into the area’s trendiest salsa party every Thursday night with free dance lessons offered early in the evening. Appetizer-sized portions are reasonably priced and made for sharing, along with other specialties including sangria, wine and signature red cocktails.
“The Red Room Tapas Lounge could not be more pleased to receive these honors,” said Ogan. “We are especially grateful to our customers and Independent Weekly readers for making the restaurant a unique and vibrant experience.”
Other Rocky Top Hospitality restaurants include: The Twisted Fork, Market & Bar, Bogart’s American Grill, Michael Dean’s Seafood Grill and Oyster Bar, Hi5, The Mash House Brewery & Chophouse and Tribeca Tavern.
