Vegan Restaurant Chain Expands

(RestaurantNews.comBlossom Du Jour is marking the opening of it’s fourth Manhattan location this week. It’s the largest vegan chain in the city and one of the most popular vegan restaurants in the country.

The new location is located at 449 Amsterdam Avenue (between West 81st and 82nd streets). Owner Pamela Elizabeth says, “we chose this location because several people have asked for a Du Jour in the heart of the Upper West Side.”

The bright spot boasts huge windows, 500 square feet and 14 seats. When you walk in one of the first things you’ll notice is the huge refrigerator case showcasing Blossom Du Jour’s popular line of juices and quick serve food. In a rush? You can grab a juice, a healthy wrap and be on your way in no time.

Elizabeth says, “We put a vegan spin on familiar classics and comfort foods, as well offer innovative vegan creations that are perfect for folks on the go!”

The fourth Blossom Du Jour also features all the favorites guests have grown to know and love such as the Seitan Philly Cheese Steak, The Midtown Melt and the Smoky Avocado. It also has some of the best vegan treats in the city including red velvet cupcakes, banana cream pie, their famous harvest cookie and more.

This isn’t the first expansion for Blossom Du Jour this year. Elizabeth’s food can also now be purchased outside of her restaurants and inside of the all-natural supplier, Whole Foods (in select Manhattan locations for now).

With the hunger for this kind of food Elizabeth thinks vegan food is really making it’s mark now:

“I think it’s a combination of things. People are much more conscientious about what they’re putting into their bodies today — they want to live longer, healthier lives.” She goes on to say, “I believe that if more people had access to prepared vegan food options (in restaurants & supermarkets) the number of vegans would be even greater. “

Thanks to Blossom Du Jour more people are getting access and now the skies the limit.
