ESPN’s Best Sports Bar debuts custom design for brand’s next stage of growth
Baton Rouge, LA (RestaurantNews.com) It’s only fitting that the “Best Sports Bar in North America” outfits its waitresses in the best uniforms in North America.
And that’s just what Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar has done, thanks to a comprehensive redesign that’s been in the works since April.
“We design a lot of custom uniforms across the country, but I can honestly say that Walk-On’s is one of our absolute favorites,” said Terra Saunders, owner of Dallas-based Waitressville. “The minute I visited the restaurant and they told me they had been voted the country’s best sports bar, I knew exactly what we had to do. We set out to design an All-American cheerleader look that’s fun, approachable and perfect for the ‘girl next door,’ which is what the Walk-On’s girls are. I think we really nailed it.”
The new uniforms debuted on Monday, December 9th, at all four Walk-On’s restaurants in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and New Orleans. In keeping with the restaurant’s color scheme, the uniform is predominantly blue with red and white accents. Red Converse sneakers provide the perfect finishing touch.
“We challenged Terra and her team to create a fun and classy design that fits our brand and that both our customers and our waitresses would love,” said Brandon Landry, co-founder and owner of Last In Concepts, which operates Walk-On’s and its four sister concepts. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the finished product. The Walk-On’s girls are all smiles, and our regular customers are flashing us the ‘thumbs-up’ sign.”
Walk-On’s was voted “Best Sports Bar in North America” by ESPN in 2012. The company is eyeing expansion beyond its Louisiana base in the near future, so it was important to create a design that would travel with the brand.
“Walk-On’s is such a great, original sports bar concept, it belongs in college towns across the country,” said Saunders. “Their new cheerleader outfits will work just as well in Austin, Gainesville and Tuscaloosa as they do in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and New Orleans.”
