What's Next at eeZ: New Cocktails, Ramen and OmakaseHuntersville, NC  (RestaurantNews.com)  Locally owned eeZ is making menu moves in time for spring. The go to spot for sushi and Thai Asian fare in the Lake Norman area opened at Birkdale Village in 2005 and has continued to evolve over time as Birkdale has grown. The spring of 2024 brings a handful of new menu items to the beloved neighborhood spot as well as the return of ramen, a longtime guest favorite.

A new Thai Lemongrass Margarita, created by Assistant General Manager Ryan Selman, is a fun fusion of flavors that is perfect for patio season. Crafted with premium blanco Tequila and Cointreau, the cocktail is elevated with a house-made lemongrass, ginger and basil syrup. Add a Sriracha salt rim and each sip is a perfect balance of sweet, spicy and citrusy notes.

The Ichigo No Hana (Strawberry Blossom) features basil, sake simple syrup, lemonade and Smirnoff citrus with Mio Sparkling Sake. Garnished with fresh strawberries it is a light and refreshing warm weather cocktail.

Ramen, a traditional Japanese soup, has made a return to the menu but with a new and improved flavor profile. The hearty dish from Master Sushi Chef Rifali Almunir features smoked pork belly, green onion, hard boiled egg, ramen noodles, bok choy, naruto fish cake, shitake mushrooms and bamboo shoots in chicken and pork broth.

On the sushi side, a new Omakase experience is coming to eeZ this spring. The multi course, prix fixe menu will feature an array of fresh seafood selections from Head Sushi Chef Son Nyugen and Master Sushi Chef Rifali Almunir. Limited reservations will be available for the Omakase experience along with an option to add an alcohol pairing.

eeZ is the sister concept to The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar, found in Charlotte at The Village at SouthPark, in Raleigh at North Hills and at Universal’s CityWalk in both Orlando and Beijing. The concept was originally known as eeZ Fusion and Sushi, shortening their name to simply eeZ after undergoing a full renovation in August of 2022. In 2023 eeZ took both the top prize in Charlotte Five’s Readers’ Choice Best Sushi and in Lake Norman Currents Best of Lake Norman Awards, winning Best Asian Cuisine. Learn more about eeZ here.
