World’s Largest Buffalo Wild Wings Opening in Brea

World's Largest Buffalo Wild Wings Opening in BreaThe world’s largest Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant and sports bar will open to the public at 260 S. Brea Blvd. in Brea, California on Monday, May 23, 2011.  Backed by local investors including several Southern California baseball and football players, the new $5 million restaurant is the latest redevelopment effort for downtown Brea by local business owner and former sports agent, Dwight Manley, who grew up in the town.

To celebrate the grand opening, the new sports grill and bar will offer free wings for a year to the first 100 guests in line when the restaurant opens to the public at 11 am on Monday, May 23.

“This will be the 755th Buffalo Wild Wings location in the country, and by far the coolest, largest and most innovative.  It’s over 12,000 square feet in size, will seat 566, and there are more than 100 big-screen, high definition television sets for viewing sports events.  Three stories up there’s a second, full kitchen, dining area with VIP booths and a balcony with granite bar rails outside where you can see the nightly fireworks at Disneyland.  There’s even a decorative fireplace and fountain created by the same company that designed the famous fountains outside the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas,” said Manley.

Chris Paphites is the operating partner and BWW franchisee for the new restaurant.

Manley said the other partners with him are “a number of successful Southern California business executives” and sports heroes including former Angeles baseball star Tim Salmon and his brother Mike who played football for USC, the 49ers and Bills, and nine-time Gold Glove winner and former Angles hero Jim Edmonds.

“We’ll display their jerseys in the restaurant and sports items from the personal collection of actress and director Penny Marshall as well as from my own memorabilia collection.”

“Although it won’t be ready for the opening, in a few weeks we’ll have a magnificent, 34-foot wide Times Square radial marquee sign, the first of its kind in Orange County,” explained Manley.  “We can show UFC and pay-per-view events on the sign as well as on the 100 large screen televisions throughout the restaurant.”
