Captain D’s is participating in Share Our Strength’s Great American Dine Out, a week-long national restaurant event in cities across the United States. From September 19-25, 2010, thousands of restaurants, including Captain D’s will join together in raising funds to support No Kid Hungry, Share Our Strength’s national campaign to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.
Guests are invited to visit their local Captain D’s during the month of September and by donating just $3, they’ll receive over $6 in Captain D’s coupons. Last year, Captain D’s along with nearly 4,000 restaurants of every size and type helped the Great American Dine Out raise nearly $800,000
“We’re proud of our continued participation in the Great American Dine Out and we’re thankful for our guests who’ve helped us rally around this cause each year. Joining our efforts with the entire restaurant industry encourages us that we can make progress towards that tough but achievable goal of ending Childhood hunger in America,” according to Sandy Smith, Senior VP of Marketing, Captain D’s, LLC.
Millions of consumers play a vital role in this initiative; their choice to dine out at participating restaurants will help feed children in need all across America. Nearly 17 million children in America—almost one of every four—lack the resources to put healthy meals on the table every day. Share Our Strength is ending childhood hunger in America by 2015 by connecting these kids to the food they need to live healthy, active lives.
The Great American Dine Out is sponsored by Sysco, Ecolab, American Express, USA Today and the National Restaurant Association.
