Flagship restaurant promises to be “Better Than You Remember!

Fort Worth, TX  (RestaurantNews.com)  Remember that cone with the curl on top?

Of course you do. You’ve heard the commercials as a winsome voice swoons the hook, “DQ: This is the Stop Sign of Texas!”

Remember just a few years ago when it was hard to find a Dairy Queen restaurant in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex? Well, now there’s another new DQ at Basswood Blvd. and Hwy 35 that promises to offer customers an experience that is “better than you remember!”

Lickety Split Food Services, LLC Opens 7th Dairy Queen in Thirty MonthsWelcome to the newest Dairy Queen Restaurant in the nation — it’s conveniently located on the northbound side of Hwy 35W, in front of Home Depot.

The doors open at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 19. And then on Saturday, October 24 there is a door crasher special that will inspire line-ups: The first one hundred customers who buy a DQ Cake will receive a “Basswood DQ Premier Customer” membership card that entitles them to fifty-two free Steak Finger Country Baskets (one per week for an entire year).

Multi-unit DQ owner/operator Michael Clarke.

The 3,480 s.f. restaurant was built by local contractors, is being staffed by local employees (over 70 have been hired), and is owned and operated by long-time Tarrant County resident and multi-unit DQ owner/operator Michael Clarke. You may have seen Clarke driving around in his DQ-red 1956 Ford F100. You can’t miss it, as it is as sure to put as big a smile on your face as a Dilly Bar.

Clarke didn’t hold back when asked why he chose his latest location, “The explosive growth along 35W between Interstate 820 and State Highway 114 is amazing. Sure the traffic has been rough due to all of the construction, but that’s almost done. These North Fort Worth neighborhoods still enjoy a small town and family-friendly atmosphere–perfect for a DQ.” This is the seventh Dairy Queen restaurant Clarke has opened in Tarrant County since 2013.

“We are thrilled to welcome our neighbors to enjoy our great food, friendly service, and amazing restaurant. We’re all about giving our customers an exceptional experience,” said General Manager, Richie Ruiz.

The Basswood DQ restaurant is being called a “flagship” restaurant within the DQ system, because it blends the best of DQ’s iconic history with the most modern innovations in the quick-service restaurant industry. Highlighted by the open-air grill and separate chill sections, the restaurant features comfortable booths and large tables, warm lighting, country music, HD televisions, free Wi-Fi, and an environment designed to encourage customers to make this their Dairy Queen.

An Array of Menu Options

The food menu features Hungr-Buster® burgers, Country Baskets®, and Texas T-Brand Tacos®. The state-of-the-art kitchen showcases some of the most sophisticated appliances, but Clarke reiterates that it comes down to the great DQ taste, “We’re flame-broiling our burgers, we’re sourcing the freshest ingredients, and we’re training our staff to prepare the food with excellence so that our guests enjoy the great taste of Texas in every bite.”

Don’t forget the soft-serve treats: Blizzards®, Dilly Bars®, and those cones with the curls on top. Unique to the Basswood DQ is its dedication to DQ Cakes and Cupcakes. A culinary-schooled and certified pastry chef creates frozen celebratory works of art to ensure your special occasion is as delicious as it is beautiful.

The Basswood DQ will also serve DQ’s latest innovation: Fresh from the Oven Bakes: Texas-style sandwiches, wraps, and delicious desserts.

The restaurant can seat 72 guests inside and another 24 outside in the open-air patio. From the entrance doors with iconic DQ red spoons for handles, to the interior finish of slate and maple — this DQ really is better than you remember.
