Calabasas, CA (RestaurantNews.com) Los Angeles-based fast-casual restaurant, Pizza Studio, has signed its 16th franchise deal with another superstar multi-concept franchisee. Luke Strockis of LND Restaurants Inc. has signed an agreement to open 10 Pizza Studio locations in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles, with the first one opening this summer. Strockis was the first franchisee of Buffalo Wild Wings in California and has won multiple awards from Buffalo Wild Wings, including having five of the highest grossing stores in the nation.
Since their franchise program began in 2013, Pizza Studio has signed deals for more than 190 units in California, Arizona, Minneapolis/St, Paul and New York.
“Pizza Studio is very attractive to a restaurant operator like me,” said Strockis. “We carefully evaluated all the players in this fast-casual pizza segment and quickly concluded that Pizza Studio had the best elements of success, hands down.”
“Having Luke join our team was a huge win for us. He is an amazing operator with an impressive pedigree and will fit perfectly with our other groups of highly experienced restaurateurs,” said Samit Varma, C-Founder and CEO of Pizza Studio.
Pizza Studio is a fast-casual franchise concept that invites guests to create their own custom pizza masterpiece. A wide assortment of crusts, specialty sauces, premium meats, fresh and roasted vegetables and the highest quality ingredients are offered at affordable prices. The company is known for its variety of flavors of their proprietary thin, light and crispy crusts with unlimited toppings of sauces, cheeses, nitrate-free meats and fresh-cut and roasted vegetables for each custom-built pizza creation.
Pizza Studio was founded in 2012 by Samit Varma and Ron Biskin. After a successful military career, Varma became a partner at Anthem Venture Partners, a California-based venture capital firm. Biskin has enjoyed a long career in the franchised restaurant segment with companies such as TGI Fridays, Burger King, Baja Fresh and Wolfgang Puck. Pizza Studio opened its first restaurant in Southern California in January 2013. Through franchising, the company has since developed into a successful chain with six locations open, six under construction and 175 units in various stages of development.
