Chicago IL – Huddle House
Atlanta-based Huddle House is scheduled to open its Chicago location in the Calumet Heights neighborhood next year at 9401 S. Stony Island, adjacent to Montclare Senior Residence currently under construction. Huddle House will bring needed food alternatives, critical job opportunities and a southern charm and hospitality to our city’s South Side. As we continue enriching our city’s South and West Sides with our INVEST South/West initiative, I look forward to working closely with Sam and other entrepreneurs who are working hard to bring out the economic vibrancy of the neighborhoods they represent.

Greensboro NC – Crab du Jour Cajun Seafood Restaurant and Bar
Crab du Jour Cajun Seafood Restaurant and Bar is coming to 1315-A Bridford Parkway in Greensboro. Crab du Jour offers Cajun-seasoned boiled shellfish, wings, po’boys, chicken tenders, Cajun-style sides and a low country-style seafood boil.

Crystal City MO – Krabby Daddy’s
This is one of the few restaurants where forks are optional, eating with your hands is encouraged, and bibs and napkins are plentiful.Seafood lovers in the Parkland who enjoy fresh Gulf shrimp, lobster tail, and Canadian snow and king crab will soon have a new spot to frequent. Krabby Daddy’s — a new seafood restaurant coming to Farmington — opens at the end of the month. Owners Mike and Heather Perez are currently converting the former Domino’s location next to Huddle House on Karsch Boulevard into the dine-in or pick-up restaurant.

Oak Ridge North TX – The Woodlands
Whiskey Cake is your neighborhood joint for craft cocktails and farm-fresh comfort food. They source flavors, ingredients, and ideas straight from the farm, because good food tastes even better when it’s grown locally.
From their mesquite wood-grilled plates to fresh greens and famous desserts, all of their hand-crafted dishes are served up with simple, honest flavors in a rustic, local atmosphere. Their chefs transform simple, seasonal ingredients into classic American dishes with local flavor.

Austin TX – Jjim BBQ
A new Korean barbecue restaurant is coming to South Lamar: Jjim BBQ will be found in Lamar Union at 1100 South Lamar Boulevard, Suite 2140 in the Zilker neighborhood starting sometime in the fall. The name of the restaurant is a term for a type of Korean cooking where marinated meats are braised or slow-cooked. The menu includes the galbi jjim, braised short ribs alongside a variety of vegetables (carrots, mushrooms, potatoes, shishito peppers). Then there are pork and oxtail versions too. Mozzarella cheese can be added to all jjim dishes too, as well as sides of glass noodles, rice, and assorted banchan. The dishes will be made to order, rather than have customers cook their own meats.
