Veterans Day Freebies: Restaurants Offer Free Meals to Honor Military

Restaurants across America are honoring veterans and active military today and tomorrow with free meals and discounts.  Over the last several years, the number of restaurants offering free meals for our military men and women has increased dramatically, as has the number served.  Last year, Golden Corral served over 375,000 veterans and active duty military, while raising over one million dollars for the Disabled American Veterans.  Applebee’s expects to serve over one million Thank You Meals this year.

On Sunday, restaurants offering free meals and entrees include Applebee’s, BJ’s Restaurants, Olive Garden and more.  Free Bloomin’ Onions are being given away by Outback Steakhouse, free appetizers at Red Lobster, and free donuts at Krispy Kreme and Tim Hortons.

On Monday, Denny’s is serving up All You Can Eat Pancakes between 6 am and 2 pm.  Friendly’s is offering Big-Two-Do Breakfast and coffee until 11 am.  O’Charley’s, Red Robin, Sizzler, T.G.I. Fridays, Golden Corral are serving free meals, as well.

RestaurantNews.com is serving up a huge list of these offerings.  This year, at least 50 restaurants chains offering discounts and free meals make up the list.
