Chapel Hill NC – Kipos Greek Taverna
The Giorgios Hospitality Group announced this week that Kipos Greek Taverna (which was up on W. Franklin Street) is relocating to the East end of Franklin Street into Eastgate Crossing Shopping Center in Chapel Hill at 1800 East Franklin Street, in the former Babalu space. No word yet on an open date. Stay tuned.
Ruston LA – Trio’s
Trio’s, a Mediterranean inspired restaurant in Monroe, will soon open a new location at 101 Pelican Blvd., Ruston. “The building itself, the surrounding businesses, the traffic flow, and just every little thing around it, I think it’s going to be a really good location for us,” owner Jenifer Johnson said. The location will have plenty of parking.
Tehachapi CA – Prime Bar & Grill
In Tehachapi, mouths are watering in anticipation of the opening of a new eatery, Prime Bar & Grill. Located at 480 E. Steuber Road, the restaurant will feature Indian and American cuisine. According to manager Kaylee Torres, the restaurant will feature a full bar and is slated to open within the next two or three weeks. Owner Bob Dhami decided to open the restaurant as he also owns The Barn gas station in front of the new eatery.
Camillus NY – Toss & Fire Wood-Fired Pizza
Toss & Fire Wood-Fired Pizza is opening its second brick-and-mortar restaurant later this year. The popular pizza maker, which started as a food truck in 2015 and expanded to a restaurant in North Syracuse in 2016, will be opening its second location, this one in the Township 5 center in Camillus.
Baltimore MD – Myers
Daniel Myers, who just opened Store It All Self Storage in Pigtown, is hoping to build a new restaurant building at a vacant lot at the corner of W. Cross St. and Sterrett St. The former parking lot was most recently used as a staging area for the construction Store It All, which sits adjacent to the lot.
San Francisco CA – Oakland’s Souley Vegan
Oakland’s Souley Vegan restaurant – one of the Bay Area’s first vegan soul food restaurants – is gearing up for its first big expansion since it opened a decade ago. Soon, popular dishes like fried seitan and waffles will be available across the state with new delivery – and takeout-only locations in San Francisco, Oakland and Los Angeles.
