OpenTable Serves Up New Ways To Grow

In recent months, OpenTable has been serving up new products, including one that sends customers to restaurants that don’t even put much emphasis on reservations.

Called Open Connect, the Web service aims to steer walk-ins to clients’ doors.

“Think sushi bar or French bistro,” said CEO Jeff Jordan. Connect restaurants aren’t as interested in OpenTable’s electronic reservation book, he says. They just want more exposure, and will pay for delivering.
