Bertoletti, a mohawked chef from Chicago, is the number-two ranked eater in the world and holds the record in 29 foods.
Coming in second place was Bob Shoudt, ranked number-three in the world, followed by Joey Chestnut, the number-one ranked eater in the world who has won four consecutive hot dog eating titles. Chestnut was followed by Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas, a 100-pound competitor from Alexandria, Va. and the number four-ranked eater in the world.
“Wings always have a way of bringing out the best in competitive eaters,” said George Shea, chairman of Major League Eating. “Today was no different and the world has seen why. Pat made history in Dallas today.”
The 12-minute contest took place prior to the final Dallas Mavericks regular season basketball game at the AT&T Plaza at American Airlines Center.
