Counterculture sandwich shop guests can score a free 4-inch Nug sub or order of Pretzel Nugs on Nov. 17, with no purchase, app or loyalty account required
Fort Collins, CO (RestaurantNews.com) The countdown to free Nugs has officially begun. Cheba Hut “Toasted” Subs, the counterculture sandwich joint known for its chill vibes, cottonmouth cures and bold flavors that hit just right, will celebrate Nugsgiving on Tuesday, Nov. 17 – handing anyone who walks through the door a free 4-inch Nug sub or an order of Pretzel Nugs, no purchase necessary.
What started as Cheba’s way of thanking the people who keep its toasters busy has grown into an annual tradition. From 4:20 to 10 p.m., every location will hand out one freebie per person. Sandwich lovers can claim the Nug. Loaded with the same piled-high fillings as its bigger counterparts, the Nug gives sandwich lovers a 4-inch taste of what put Cheba on the map. Snackers can opt for soft pretzel bites tossed in garlic butter, salt and Shake (The stuff of legend: a one-of-a-kind parmesan blend that’s shaken on top of all subs), then served alongside housemade honey mustard for dunking.
“Most food holidays are a sales pitch in disguise, but this is all about appreciation for the folks who keep our doors open,” said Alex Kayne, Vice President of Marketing at Cheba Hut. “Our fans have kept our shops loud, weird, and packed since ’98. One night a year, we throw a party to say thanks. Bring your friends, grab something delicious and stay awhile.”
Cheba Hut is saying thank you to every guest who rolls through the doors during the time window. You read that right. There’s no app to download, no code to remember and no hoops to jump through. The deal is in-shop only, so just walk in hungry and come as you are.
With the holiday season approaching, every family has a few cousins who slip out for a “quick walk” between turkey and pie, and Cheba Hut wants them prepared. You might not share a last name, but you share the same “air.” The Cousin Walk is for anyone who knows the family tree is better when you’re smoking it. In collaboration with DaySavers, the first 100 guests at all shops on Nugsgiving (Tuesday, Nov. 17) will receive a 3-pack of pre-rolled cones.*
