The state’s elections chief on Monday ordered an investigation of a northeast Ohio McDonald’s franchise owner who endorsed Republican candidates in a payday letter to his employees.
Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern had requested a criminal investigation of Paul Siegfried and the letter he gave to workers at his McDonald’s restaurants in Stark County.
The letter recommended the election of Republican candidates John Kasich for governor, Rob Portman for U.S. Senate and Jim Renacci for the 16th District seat in the U.S. House.
