Zink American Kitchen Goes Hog Wild Every Monday with All-American Pig Night

Any way you serve it, “pork” is a hot culinary trend sweeping the country. Diners are devouring the delectable meat in all kinds of creative ways — from traditional pulled pork sandwiches to spit-roasted pork belly and even bacon infused ice cream. At Charlotte’s Zink American Kitchen, Executive Chef Scott Wallen, is introducing a special menu (in addition to its regular menu) on Monday nights just for those people who have a love for all things pork. Zink’s All-American Pig Menu will offer a three-course dinner for just $35 and Wallen is sure it’s going to be a bestseller.

“Pork is the ultimate comfort food,” said Wallen.”And, Zink is all about reinventing traditional comfort foods into something unique and delicious. With our salute to pork, we’re using everything — from ears to tails –and offering guests a playful opportunity to enjoy some delicious and distinctive new dishes,” said Wallen.

Wallen says that using quality hogs is paramount. ” We are thrilled that Rock House Farm, a Morganton, NC based farm, will be supplying the pigs for Zink’s weekly menus this month. They allow their animals to roam free while feeding on natural browse and acorns. By using locally-sourced, environmentally conscious farmers we can deliver a much better tasting product for our guests and that’s always one of our main goals.”

The Zink All-American Pig menu will change on a weekly basis. The promotion rolls out this week with a Creamy Potato and Bacon Soup with braised pork belly salad, Confit of Pork Meatloaf and Warm Chocolate and Bacon Lava Cake on the menu. Guests can choose to dine on all three courses or select items a la carte. In addition, Wallen says the kitchen will be cooking their famous hand-cut fries in organically grown pig fat, all day on Mondays. “The fries are definitely a signature item, and a huge hit with our guests. The pig fat really takes them to a whole new, delicious level.”
