The Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurant chain is spending millions to give a dozen of its Richmond-area locations a makeover.
It also plans to hire hundreds more employees and do more training as the chain looks to refresh its brand.
The move by one of the nation’s largest restaurant chains may reflect a more optimistic trend in the industry and more aggressive efforts to draw back customers who cut down on dining during the recession.
