El Gallo Taqueria is celebrating its two year anniversary party on Saturday, July 16th from 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM (or until all the fresh fixings run out). All day long El Gallo will be serving up delicious specials made from local, organic ingredients such as shrimp ceviche and lamb tacos. El Gallo will also be handing out free stickers, and having a T-shirt give-away!
El Gallo Taqueria chef and owner Jake Brown is a local and very involved in the Woodstock neighborhood community in SE Portland, OR. Jake previously cooked at Meriwether’s, Genoa, and many other fine dining favorites around Portland.
Jake’s desire to cook affordable food made from scratch with local, healthy ingredients drove him to open his own delicious food cart. His love of rustic, Mexican cuisine has fueled his passion for cooking and his knack for creating unique, inventive recipes.
Since opening in the summer of 2009, El Gallo Taqueria has received rave reviews from The Sellwood Bee, The Portland Mercury, and PortlandFoodCarts.com. El Gallo was also selected to participate in this year’s Eat Mobile Food Cart Festival sponsored by the Willamette Week.
