THE MELT, a fresh new take on fast casual dining, today announced it was expanding with the opening of three additional locations in San Francisco’s Embarcadero Center, Spear Street (near AT&T Park) and the first suburban store in Palo Alto’s Stanford Shopping Center. The early success of the first location in the Financial District, which opened in August, has helped pave the way for the new locations. Along with the new stores, THE MELT is unveiling two new melt combos, a trio of all-new sweet melts, and an expanded menu of beverages including beer and sparkling wine.

“Our first THE MELT location has exceeded our initial expectations and quickly established a growing group of repeat customers,” said Jonathan Kaplan, founder and Chairperson. “Our three new stores are strategically situated to serve business workers and residents with THE MELT’s artisan meals, prepared with the highest quality and freshest ingredients, in a simple, fast and eco-friendly environment.”

Focused solely around the classic grilled cheese and soup combination, THE MELT is featuring two new unique melt combos created by its culinary team: The Parisian, a brie and apple butter melt paired with creamy wild mushroom soup and The Outlaw, a Colby jack melt served with spicy black bean soup. Responding to customer interest, the eateries will now feature new sweet options that utilize THE MELT technique. These new sweet melts include S’mores, No-Nut PB&J and Raspberry Shortcake. In addition, new beverages round out the menu including domestic and local craft beer, sparkling wine and house-brewed iced tea.

THE MELT’s new locations are at One Embarcadero Center (now open), 345 Spear Street near AT&T Park (opening November 18), and at the Stanford Shopping Center (opening early December). Created by Flip Video founder and entrepreneur Jonathan Kaplan, THE MELT is reinventing the fast casual restaurant experience with made-to-order, perfectly melted, high-quality grilled cheese and handcrafted soups served in a simple, fast and friendly environment. For convenience, guests can order ahead online using their smartphone and skip the line. Customer relationships and input are encouraged and welcome with active THE MELT social media groups providing inspiration for the new menu. Visit www.melt.com for the full menu and pricing.
