Once again, it was another successful year for Fox’s Pizza Den’s “Pizza and Prevention” fund-raiser, as more than $31,000 was raised for the Punxsutawney Fire Department Saturday.
Despite the rainy weather, the locally owned Punxsutawney pizza shop sold 3,444 Big Daddy Pizzas — a record breaker — 12 percent more than last year, which also broke records with sales of 3,072 pizzas, said Scott Anthony, owner of Fox’s in Punxsy.
“In pizza sales alone that is nearly $31,000 for the fire department,” Anthony said, adding that tips, donations and cross promotions with other businesses are not yet tallied.
