Uptown Charlotte’s Mimosa Grill with Executive Chef Jon Fortes will host a Chefs Collaborative Earth Dinner on Thursday, April 28 at 6:30pm featuring a five-course meal paired with the award-winning wines of Whitehall Lane Winery and Vineyards of St. Helena, CA.
Mimosa Grill is one of 65 restaurants nationwide partnering with Chefs Collaborative and Organic Valley in presenting Earth Dinner events the week of Earth Day, April 22. The series of dinners is designed to raise awareness and celebrate local, sustainable and organic foods. A portion of the proceeds from these events will directly benefit Chefs Collaborative, a leading nonprofit network of chefs that is working to change the sustainable food landscape through connections, education and responsible buying decisions. The program which is sponsored by Organic Valley is matching donations up to $10,000. Tom Leonardini, owner of Whitehall Lane Winery and Vineyards, will be in attendance at the Mimosa wine dinner to guide diners through the pairing of wine and food. Whitehall Lane Winery is a small family owned company producing some of Napa Valley’s finest Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Reserve wines. The Leonardini Family took over the estate in 1993 and updated the winemaking, instituted new processes and continued sourcing the finest vineyards in the area. Today, the winery receives accolades and awards for producing some of the best wines in the world including being honored an unprecedented three times in five years for producing wines ranked among the top five in the world in Wine Spectator Magazine’s year-end ranking of wines. Whitehall Lane has also been named Winery of the Year from the Quarterly Review of Wines and Wine and Spirits Magazine.
