Opa Debuts Lunch Menu, Offers Free Lunch to Celebrate

Opa Debuts Lunch Menu, Offers Free Lunch to CelebrateOpa, the Modern Greek restaurant and bar located in the red-hot Midtown Village restaurant district, debuts its Lunch Menu on July 18, 2011.

In the spirit of Greek hospitality, Opa will offer a complimentary lunch to guests on July 18, 2011 (eat-in only).  Guests will enjoy a Greek pressed sandwich, or “Toast.”  Opa’s Ham and Cheese Toast is served with Lancaster County ham, Manouri cheese and house made honey mustard dressing with House Cut Oregano Fries.

Owner Vasiliki Tsiouris offered some personal background on the Toast, “Historically when you asked for a Toast in Greece, by default, you received “zambon kai tiri,” ham and cheese,”  she said. “Today, there are more options to choose from which is reflected on our lunch menu.”

Owner George Tsiouris added, “When we thought of our giveaway we knew it had to be the Toast, more specifically the ham and cheese offering – in the spirit of the original toast sandwich.”

Executive Chef Andrew Brown says the lunch menu is a testament to the Modern Greek cuisine eager patrons have been enjoying at Opa since its opening in February 2011. “We are extremely excited about this expansion into lunch,” Brown said. “We focused on traditional staples of Greek fare and honed in on simple yet amazing flavors.”

Opa’s assortment of lunch offerings are both budget and health conscience: think refreshing Watermelon and Feta Salad, a Three Egg Omelette, and the ever popular Bifteki, Opa’s Greek Burger served with House Cut Oregano Fries.

The iconic Greek sandwich, the Gyro, is also featured on the Opa lunch menu. Choose Lamb or Chicken Gyro served on a pita with yogurt sauce, cucumber, onion and tomato and accompanied by House Cut Oregano Fries or Dressed Greens.
