Red Mango, the chain rated #1 for smoothies and frozen yogurt in the country by Zagat, will soon be landing at San Diego International Airport (SAN). The franchisor has awarded a license agreement to SSP America, the North American division of SSP, the leading operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide.
“We’re excited to partner with SSP America and provide busy travelers with dining options that promote a healthy lifestyle,” said Dan Kim, founder and chief concept officer of Red Mango. “This agreement puts Red Mango in a great destination and gives us a chance to invite millions of travelers to treat themselves well.”
Kim opened his first Red Mango location in California in 2007 and has since expanded the brand to more than 140 locations across the U.S. Evolving the chain to include traditional, self-serve and kiosk formats, Red Mango has opened in a variety of venues including airports such as its future home at SAN airport. Adding San Diego to the roster with SSP is one more way Red Mango is delivering an award-winning menu to meet growing demand.
“At SSP America, we celebrate the most innovative culinary leaders and visionaries in a community,” said Les Cappetta, president and CEO of SSP America. “Wherever we operate we source the local legends, the best and brightest stars of the area – keeping jobs local and in-state wherever possible. We are very proud to be partnering with San Diego International Airport and to bring the best of California’s regional cuisine to the travelers at SAN. With customers increasingly looking for healthy, impulsive indulgences whilst traveling, Red Mango is an excellent choice.”
Red Mango offers more than 40 flavors of frozen yogurt, made-to-order fruit and yogurt parfaits, probiotic iced teas, and more than 20 delicious varieties of smoothies.
