Restaurant chains embrace online ordering

When it comes to online ordering, fast-casual restaurants lead the industry, according to a new study by Cornell University.

About 61 percent of pizza and sandwich restaurants were most likely to accept electronic orders, followed by Mexican (44.4 percent), Asian or noodle (33.3 percent) and chicken (30.8 percent).

For consumers, ordering online is easy, faster and more accurate. For restaurants, it means not having to man the phones, less of a chance of losing an inpatient customer who doesn’t want to be put on hold, and increased business.
