McDonald’s Corporation has released the results from a strong third fiscal quarter. The company announced that global comparable sales increased by 6.0% and that consolidated operating income increased by 8.0% over the previous year. McDonald’s also announced that diluted earnings per share rose by 12% during the quarter.
Canlis turns 60 in December. As part of their anniversary celebration, the restaurant is using Twitter to send out clues for a scavenger hunt. Each day the restaurant posts a clue for the location of one of 50 signed 1950’s era menus. Lucky hunters will be able to redeem the menu for a four-course meal for around $10.
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. announced the results from the third quarter ending September 30. Results show that revenue increased by 23% over the previous year’s quarter. Chipotle also announced that comparable store sales increased by 11.4% over the same period.
Quaker Steak & Lube announced their largest growth development plan in the history of the company. Action Companies and QSL Franchising Corporation have entered into franchisee agreements with the restaurant. The two agreements call for 16 restaurant locations to be developed and operated. The company plans to add at least 10 more locations during 2011.
Bravo Brio Restaurant Group, Inc. announced the initial public offering of 10 million shares of common stock at $14.00 per share. The shares will be listed under BBRG. The restaurant group will not receive proceeds from shares sold by current shareholders during the initial offering. The option opened on the 21st and closes on October 26.
Dunkin’ Donuts announced they are offering a ‘trick-or-tweet’ promotion for a chance to win a Dunkin’ Donuts Card. The 21st through October 29, the company’s twitter followers are invited to share pictures of their pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns. At the end of the week, winners will receive a $60 Dunkin’ Donuts gift card.
DineEquity, Inc. announced a successful $1.8 billion refinancing. The company used proceeds from the refinance to fund the retirement of outstanding securitized debt, as well as redeeming most of the company’s Series A perpetual preferred stock.
Domino’s expects to deliver over 1 million pizzas to trick-or-treating households on Halloween. The company has released an idea for an inexpensive, original Halloween costume you can make at home. The Domino’s Pizza Slice looks just like it sounds, like a slice of pizza. The costume instructions can be found on the Halloween tab of Domino’s Facebook page.
BJ’s Restaurants, Inc. has reported the results from the third quarter of fiscal 2010 ending September 28. The company reported total revenues increased by 24% from the same time last year. Comparable restaurant sales grew by 7.6%, and net income increased by 75%.
Fatz Café and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have teamed up for a Halloween fight against cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Guests of the restaurant and encouraged to add $1 to their bill for the purchase of a paper pumpkin to hang next to the decorations in the restaurant made by the children at St. Jude. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help fund patient care and cancer research.
