Domino’s Pizza is celebrating the opening of its first store in Germany. The new location is part of the company’s aggressive plan to expand in the European market. Berlin will be the location for several initial stores and will be followed by expansion into other parts of the country.
Bob Evans has introduced a family holiday meal for those of us needing a bit of help during the busy holiday season. The meal serves eight people and comes with your choice of meat, a slew of sides, and pumpkin deserts for less than $10 a person. The Bob Evans Farmhouse Feast is available for $74.99 at participating locations around the nation.
Lakeside Grill is open for business at the Wynn Las Vegas. The new restaurant overlooks the famous Lake of Dreams and features a menu created by Executive Chef David Walzog. Walzog’s menu is built around a modern American cuisine and sprinkled with special twists and wrinkles by the award-winning chef.
Dunkin’ Donuts has announced their limited time only holiday snack menu. The seasonal menu includes gingerbread coffee and lattes, a gingerbread muffin, gingerbread cookies, and a glazed gingerbread cake donut known as the Holiday Donut. The restaurant is also offering a number of other holiday gifts and specials including a special deal allowing guests to purchase four 1-lb bags of coffee for less than $20.
CEC Entertainment, Inc. has announced the financial results from the third quarter ending October 3. The company reports quarterly revenues increased by 4.7% when compared to the same quarter a year ago, while comparable store sales increased by 3.8% during the same time. Sales and revenues may have increased, but net income during the quarter decreased from $12.7 million a year ago to $12.6 million.
Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc. has announced the financial results for the 12 weeks ending October 4. When compared to the same 12-week period in 2009, the company experienced a 4.2% increase in restaurant revenue. Red Robin also reports increases in both company-owned comparable store sales and guest counts.
Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Inc. has released the results of their third quarter financial report. The company revealed that total revenues for the quarter increased by 1.3% from a year ago, and system-wide comparable restaurant sales increased by 0.7%. In addition to the uptick in sales and revenues, the company reported that total gross margin improved by 120 base points.
Famous Dave’s of America, Inc. announced the opening of its newest Bar-B-Que restaurant in Philadelphia. The new location is set to open on November 1. The location will allow guests to order right at the counter and have the option to dine-in, or take their dinners to go. While the menu is based around the traditional Famous Dave’s menu, Philadelphia area stores will feature a Philly twist with special dishes created just for Philadelphia.
When McDonald’s introduce their premium coffees a few years ago, many saw them as copying Starbucks. Now Starbucks is attempting to take a page out of McDonald’s playbook and scale back growth to focus on efficient restaurant operations. Changes McDonald’s made in restaurant operations were followed by a rapid increase in stock values; Starbucks is hoping their new emphasis on efficiency will serve them similarly.
Beaver Street Fisheries, Inc. has preventatively recalled more than 4,000 pounds of select 5- to –7 pound tuna loins that were sold to restaurants. The company announced the recall after three people became ill at one restaurant using the tuna. The tuna appears to have had high levels of histamine, which can cause an allergic reaction. The company said it does not know if the food was contaminated before it arrived at the restaurant of if it happened at the restaurant during the thawing process. All of the tuna involved in the recall has been pulled and returned to the distributer according to the company.
