Restaurant trendsetter

The name Alexander Zaturinsky doesn’t usually come up the list of well-known businessmen who have made small fortunes on Moscow’s restaurant market in the past decade.

But from behind the scenes, the energetic young restaurant developer has been quietly changing the face of the Moscow restaurant market through his string of creativelydesigned restaurants.

Zaturinsky’s first projects, Mon Cafe bar and elite restaurant Bed Cafe, introduced a trend to simplify elite eating in the Moscow of the early-2000s. Packaged under the more modest title “cafe” and with menus that focused on quality and simplicity over extravagance, the restaurants helped to usher in a new era of Moscow dining.
