Johnny Rockets today announced the grand opening of its latest all-American restaurant in the eclectic city of Tampico, in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. Highlighting the food and fun that made them famous, the new Johnny Rockets will introduce the brand’s iconic menu, decor and dancing to residents and visitors of the vibrant coastal community.
Local entrepreneurs and brothers, Jorge Santana Villarreal and Isaias Santana Villarreal, operating as Operadora de Restaurantes Savi S. A de C. V, own and run a successful family business that includes freight transportation, blue agave and tree plantations, cattle farming and industrial equipment. They also run a charitable foundation that provides medical assistance, food and support to those who can’t afford appropriate care.
“We are excited to open Johnny Rockets in our hometown of Tampico,” said Franchise Owner Isaias Santana Villarreal. “It allows us to introduce the kind of cooking we’ve experienced in The States and allows us to bring out our creative sides when it comes to marketing, music and dancing.” He added, “We know our friends and family love eating and spending time here and we believe the rest of the city will, as well.”
The new 2,730 square foot restaurant is located in Plaza Covadonga and employs 43 local Tampico residents.
According to Johnny Rockets Senior Vice President of International Development, Steve Devine, “Tampico represents a great opportunity for Johnny Rockets to further our fan base in yet another vibrant part of Mexico. We have no doubt that the Santana Villarreals will bring the same passion and professionalism to this restaurant as they do to their other businesses.”
