Round Table emerges from bankruptcy, eyes expansion

Concord-based Round Table Pizza is set to emerge from bankruptcy Wednesday and declare itself a financially stronger chain ready to open new restaurants in the United States and launch a big expansion in Vietnam.

Round Table, whose signature tag line is “The Last Honest Pizza,” filed for bankruptcy in February, listing $33.8 million in debts and $7.9 million in assets, according to court papers in Oakland.

Now, a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge has approved a plan aimed at putting Round Table on solid financial ground.

“This reorganization is an important turning point for us,” said Rob McCourt, Round Table’s CEO.
