Alsip IL (RestaurantNews.com) Just Shrimp, the Tinley Park eatery, has opened a second location at 5438 W 127th Street, bringing another option of fried seafood and other delicacies to the area. The restaurant will stay in line with its sister restaurant in Tinley Park offering the same variety of seafood. John Mihalos, managing partner of both locations along with his operating partner of Just Shrimp Alsip, George Marudas, recognized the demand for the product in the area and decided to create the new location with the same vision as its Tinley Park location.
“We are bringing back the forgotten local shrimp house. People are on the go and on a tight budget, but still want to enjoy great seafood at a reasonable price. In today’s market place that is difficult to find. Just Shrimp is looking to fill that void. With our unique and affordable menu people can appreciate our products,” said Mihalos.
The location is primarily a takeout restaurant, but with its 15 seat capacity it can offer the option of dining in to those that choose to do so.
To those who haven’t had the chance to try it, Just Shrimp offers much more than its name suggests. With a small but substantial menu, customers can enjoy a wide variety of seafood. Each menu item is wild caught and made to order. The popular fried lobster dish is a succulent delicacy that many say is better served fried than any other way. Lake perch, catfish and calamari are some other favorites. The lobster roll could easily compete with any east coast lobster shack. It is made the traditional way, with whole Maine lobster, mayonnaise, chopped celery, lemon juice, and house seasoning. It is served cold on a lightly toasted buttered New England roll. Each meal is served with a generous side of fries and fresh coleslaw and a choice of seven different shrimp sauces. Want to skip the fries and slaw? All menu items can be sold individually or by the pound.
