Chicago, IL (RestaurantNews.com) One of the south side’s most recent culinary treasures, Just Shrimp, will be Ford City Mall food court’s newest addition.
Just Shrimp, a fast casual seafood restaurant, opened its food court prototype location in Ford City Mall. Ford City is one of Chicago’s most well-known shopping malls and has elevated its presence in the past year with new and well known retailers.
The new restaurant will stay in line with their other two stores located in Tinley Park and Alsip, IL, serving quality seafood at a reasonable price.
“This location will give us the opportunity to see a whole new way of operating. This captive audience setting could be the model we are looking for as we venture into other segment such as airports, train stations, or multi-unit buildings,” said John Mihalos co-owner and founder of Just Shrimp.
“We will still serve our seafood fresh made to order. Nothing will change from our original concept and recipes,” Mr. Mihalos continued.
Just Shrimp was established in late 2014 with the original store opening in Tinley Park, IL and the Alsip location in November of 2015. Though fairly new, Just Shrimp has captured the hearts of seafood lovers and was recently recognized as one of the top spots for restaurants in Tinley Park according to The Culture Trip and was also awarded Best Seafood Restaurant by the Daily Southtown’s Best of Chicago’s Southland.
Although their jumbo fried shrimp is their claim to fame, the restaurant offers much more than its name suggests. Just Shrimp’s menu stretches over various seafood delicacies including lobster, catfish, lake perch, cod, and more. All menu items are wild caught and made to order.
“Just Shrimp is a great addition to our Food Court at Ford City Mall,” says Mall General Manager, Tracy Munno. “Our customers had been requesting fresh seafood and Just Shrimp fills that bill. Everything is simply delicious. We are delighted they are now open and customers are lining up!”
Owner, John Mihalos has filled a void in the south suburbs with a high quality, shrimp and seafood restaurant. Mihalos has come together to open the third store, with operating partner, Angelos Tzivas. The Ford City location opened the week of April 11th.
