A first-of-its-kind collaboration between two of Texas’ most iconic brands – DQ® and Dr Pepper® – to launch the limited-time Dr Pepper BBQ Patty Melt, available now through October 19 at participating DQ restaurants in Texas.
The campaign, styled like a high-energy football broadcast, taps into Texas’ deep football culture to crown the Dr Pepper BBQ Patty Melt as “The Official Taste of Football Season in Texas.”
Featuring announcer-style voiceovers, bold camera moves, motion graphics, and highlight-reel hero shots, the omnichannel campaign positions the Dr Pepper BBQ Patty Melt as the MVP of game day.
The campaign features a mix of :15 and :30 second TV spots, radio, digital, and social media activations, bolstered by influencer partnerships and interactive fan engagement.

Built on buttery Texas Toast, the patty melt combines a pure-beef patty with American cheese, crispy bacon, golden onion rings, jalapeño relish, and the star of the show: a sweet and tangy Dr Pepper BBQ Sauce that’s unmistakably Texan.
Texans can also score a limited-edition Dr Pepper collectible cup, available at participating locations while supplies last before the final whistle blows on October 19.
