The letter that landed on Gordon Ramsay’s doorstep last Monday was dynamite. Timed to coincide with his 44th birthday, it ruined any chance Ramsay might have had of enjoying his big day.
Instead it sent the chef, famously emotional and foul-mouthed, into a rage that would lead to a very public airing of a poisonous family row.
The letter was addressed to Ramsay’s wife Tana and was written by his mother-in-law Greta Hutcheson.
Her husband Chris Hutcheson, Ramsay’s business partner for 13 years and the financial brain behind his restaurant empire, had been sacked by the chef last month and locked out of the company over a series of allegations which now form the basis of a £20 million legal battle.
