“Cousins Subs has a longstanding tradition of commitment to the communities we serve,” said Christine Specht, president and COO at Cousins Subs.  “We have supported a multitude of causes and organizations throughout our 40-year history.  By establishing The Make It Better Foundation, we hope we can do even more.”

The Make it Better Foundation has established three areas of interest it believes are vital to any community: health and wellness, hunger and youth education.  Interested nonprofit and community organizations can visit Cousinssubs.com/foundation to find out more information on eligibility and how to apply.  Completed applications will be reviewed, and grants announced, on a quarterly basis.

“I’m pleased to announce that The Make It Better Foundation’s good work has already begun,” said Specht.  “We awarded four $500 scholarships to Milwaukee Area Technical College students for their photography contributions used to create a Foundation display for viewing in each Cousins Subs location. In addition, we are sponsoring the Wisconsin Sports Awards Scholarship Competition, which honors outstanding high school student athletes.  We will provide scholarship awards totaling $12,000 to qualified seniors.”

“Our slogan is ‘Better bread.  Better subs.  Better day,’” Specht said, “and we take it seriously.  “We believe that as an organization and as individuals, we have the ability and the duty to make it better, every day.”
