Crazy Bowls & Wraps Turns Every Receipt Into a Football Card With Bowl Games, a Loyalty Game Built In House

The 15-store St. Louis fast casual launches an eight-week season in which every paper receipt pulls one of five cards, every card pays free food, and a computer-generated announcer calls each order like the fourth quarter

St. Louis, MO  (RestaurantNews.com)  Crazy Bowls & Wraps, the St. Louis fast casual serving bowls and wraps since 1994, has launched Bowl Games, a football-season loyalty game in which the paper receipt from any order becomes a playing piece. Live at all 15 locations in Missouri and Illinois through Saturday, November 14, the game was designed and built entirely in house, with no app to download and no vendor platform behind it.

Guests open CrazyBowlsAndWraps.com/bowl-games on their phone, type a first name and photograph their receipt. The game reads what was ordered and awards one of five Huddle cards. Chip Teriyaki, the brand’s announcer, then calls the order aloud as if it had just sealed the game.

“For as long as we’ve been open, the receipt has been the saddest thing in the bag. It rides home in a cup holder and dies in a jacket pocket,” said Elle Morgan, Chief Marketing Officer of Crazy Bowls & Wraps. “Not this fall. Photograph it, and our AI announcer, Chip Teriyaki, calls your order like it just sealed the game, you pull a Huddle card, and the free food starts. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to a piece of thermal paper.”

What you order decides the card

There is no random element in Bowl Games. Fixed rules read the receipt and the rarest item on it decides the card. No luck in it.

  • The Closer, an entree with a paid drink, pays a Free Chips and
  • Double Protein, a second protein or a High Protein or Jerk bowl, pays a Free Crazy Crispy
  • The Regular, an entree on its own, pays a Free Regular Fountain
  • Green Zone, a tofu, falafel or no-protein build, pays a Free
  • Special Teams, a paid side, starter, topping or dessert, pays a Free Cheese

Each card pays its reward the first time a guest earns it. A guest who collects all five different cards earns a Free Entree, any regular bowl or wrap. Rewards load to the guest’s linked Crazy Points account the day after the receipt is verified against the register.

Fifteen stores, one scoreboard

Every verified receipt is also a point for the store printed on it, on a single public scoreboard for all 15 locations. Rounds run Sunday through Saturday and lock Saturday night, when Chip Teriyaki reads the standings. Each week, the guest with the most verified receipts at each store takes home a Taco Kit, a build-your-own kit that serves four to five.

Built in house, in a summer

Bowl Games is the third piece of a guest-experience rebuild Crazy Bowls & Wraps completed over twelve weeks this summer. The brand rebuilt its website and removed more than 60 third-party marketplace ordering links, so every online order now runs through Crazy Bowls & Wraps’ own ordering site and its existing Crazy Points loyalty program. It launched the Craziologist, a site chatbot that knows the full menu, every store’s hours and current specials, and is retrained on what guests actually ask. The game was built on the same principle: a 30-year-old regional brand using technology to get closer to its neighborhoods rather than further from them.

About the announcer

Chip Teriyaki is a computer-generated character with a synthetic voice. He uses only the first name a guest types and the items on the receipt, and guests can change or delete his call at any time. He does not pretend to be a person. He does pretend a Jerk bowl is a game-sealing interception.

How to play

Only paper receipts play: the one from the register or the one stapled to a pickup or delivery bag. Receipts printed on or after September 20, 2026 play for 14 days after printing, from any store and any channel, one pull per receipt. Anyone 13 or older can play; guests must be 18 or older to link a Crazy Points account and receive rewards. Employees and their households are not eligible. Free to play. Rewards need a linked Crazy Points account. Official Rules are at CrazyBowlsAndWraps.com/bowl-games.
