Iconic New York pizza brand heads to Yonge & Eglinton in Spring 2027, led by Toronto-born CEO Lawrence Longo
Toronto (RestaurantNews.com) Prince St. Pizza, known for its Sicilian-style square pies and signature pepperoni-loaded slices, is expanding its Canadian footprint with a second Toronto location, slated to open in Spring 2027 in the heart of Midtown.
Located at 2472 Yonge Street, the new 2,500-square-foot restaurant will bring Prince St. Pizza’s famous square slices, bold flavours and unmistakable New York attitude to one of Toronto’s most vibrant and established neighbourhoods.
The new restaurant will occupy part of a landmark dining space with deep roots in Toronto’s culinary history. The address was formerly home to Centro, the celebrated fine-dining institution founded by Franco Prevedello in 1988, which operated for 25 years. The space later housed Vita Sociale and, most recently, Cibo Wine Bar.
For Prince St. Pizza CEO Lawrence Longo, the expansion represents more than another restaurant opening. Born and raised in Toronto, Longo built his career in Los Angeles before helping transform the New York-born pizza brand into one of North America’s most recognizable and fastest-growing pizza concepts. Now, he’s bringing that success back to the city where his story began.
“I may have built my career in the United States, but Toronto will always be home,” said Lawrence Longo, CEO of Prince St. Pizza. “I grew up here, and there’s something really special about bringing a brand I’ve helped build back to the city that raised me. The response to our first Toronto location at The Well has been incredible, and Yonge & Eglinton feels like the perfect next step. Midtown has such a great mix of families, businesses, and restaurants, and we want to become part of that community. My vision is to make Prince St. Pizza a household name across Canada, but it all starts right here in my hometown.”
Since making its Toronto debut at The Well in 2023, Prince St. Pizza has continued to build a passionate following for its signature recipes, premium ingredients and creative collaborations that bring together food, music, sports and pop culture. Known for its legendary Spicy Spring slice, topped with crispy, curled pepperoni cups, the brand has earned a loyal following among pizza lovers, celebrities and food enthusiasts across North America.
The Yonge & Eglinton opening marks another milestone in Prince St. Pizza’s Canadian growth, strengthening its presence in Toronto as the brand looks to establish a broader footprint across the country.
Additional details, including the official opening date and launch celebrations, will be announced closer to Spring 2027.
