Cult-favorite New York slice brand and Miami’s European-style fromagerie serve up a triple-double of ribeye, smoked mozzarella and feta, with Heat tickets on the line
Miami, FL (RestaurantNews.com) Prince St. Pizza, the New York City-born pizzeria known for its Sicilian-style square pies and signature pepperoni-loaded slices, is stepping onto Miami’s home court with Chèvre Miami, the fromagerie-turned-sandwich standout, for a Greek-inspired pie with a name every basketball fan knows. The Freak arrives Oct. 12 for a limited time, eight days before the season tips off on Oct. 20.
The name is a playful nod to Miami’s newest basketball superstar and one of the league’s most recognizable nicknames, giving the city a Greek-inspired pie of its own. With a little South Beach flair and plenty of personality, The Freak puts a flavorful spin on the arrival of Miami’s latest hoops sensation.
Greek roots run all through the pie. Shaved ribeye marinated for 48 hours anchors crispy Mercer dough, smoked and shredded mozzarella melts underneath, and a generous drizzle of Chèvre’s Greek sauce. Feta crumbles, Aleppo pepper and dill land last, balancing the richness with bright, savory flavor.
“We took Prince St., loaded it like a kebab and blamed Giannis,” said Mario Naar, CEO of Chèvre Miami. “Gyro. Feta. Chili. A square pie with an attitude that guests will remember long after their first bite.”

That sauce comes from a shop with real pedigree. Chèvre began as a love letter to European cheese, opening in 2022 in Miami’s Shenandoah and Coral Way area by hometown entrepreneurs Mario and Johanna Narr. Mario built direct relationships with small European cheesemakers, bringing wheels to the counter that are tough to find anywhere else in South Florida. Then came the sandwiches. A partnership with Miami chef Nicole Votano dramatically widened the following, and the menu now reads like a passport.
“A nickname like that sets a high bar, and only a partner who obsesses over dairy could clear it,” said Lawrence Longo, CEO of Prince St. Pizza. “Chèvre treats a sandwich like a cheese course, so its Greek sauce was the missing piece for a ribeye pie. Miami is about to spend a season watching one Freak take over the paint, and we wanted fans to have another waiting at the pizza counter.”
Prince St. Pizza Rewards members who purchase The Freak will be entered to win a pair of Heat tickets in the first level on Oct. 23.* The pizza is available through online ordering only, via first and third-party delivery at PrinceStreetPizza.com for a limited-time.
Founded in Manhattan’s Nolita neighborhood over a decade ago, Prince St. Pizza has become a national destination for its signature square pies, now served at 20 locations across the U.S. and Canada. For more information, visit PrinceStreetPizza.com.
