Southern California Restaurant Chain Celebrates National Veterans and Military Families Month with Philanthropic Campaigns Benefiting Operation Homefront
Pasadena, CA (RestaurantNews.com) Stonefire Grill, a premier fast-casual family dining destination for more than 25 years, serving generous portions of scratch-made, classic American-inspired dishes, is recognizing National Veterans and Military Families Month with two appreciation initiatives to honor veterans, active-duty military members and their families. The brand’s November programs include a systemwide fundraising campaign benefiting national military nonprofit Operation Homefront and a Thanksgiving dinner for military families.
Throughout the month, Stonefire Grill and Rattler’s Bar B Que will rachet up support for Operation Homefront in conjunction with the Recipe for Goodness philosophy, a multidimensional brand commitment to provide nourishing meals and uplift the communities Stonefire Grill and Rattler’s Bar B Que serve. During the campaign, guests can donate at the register and write messages of gratitude on flags displayed throughout the restaurants. Guests ordering online can round up their order total to contribute. Stonefire Grill will match guest donations up to $5,000, helping Operation Homefront to deliver critical financial assistance, housing and other recurring support services to military and veteran families.

In addition to fundraising support for Operation Homefront, Stonefire Grill will bring Thanksgiving to 150 veterans, active-duty military members and their families at a special holiday dinner hosted by the Orange Elks Lodge on November 26. Stonefire Grill’s Vice President of Culinary and Kitchen Operations, Rudy Buruca, will prepare tri-tip, turkey and the restaurant’s signature garlic mashed potatoes – parts of a full holiday spread that also includes ham, stuffing, traditional Thanksgiving sides and a dessert buffet. Lodge members and local partners, including Polly’s Pies, Tutto Fresco, Newport Meat Company and U.S. Foods, are contributing food and other resources to make the celebration possible.
“The Orange Elks Lodge is proud to open its doors for this Thanksgiving celebration, which honors veterans, active-duty service members and their families, and creates holiday togetherness and enjoyment in a welcoming community,” said Lynn Bulter, exalted ruler of the Orange Elks Lodge. “We appreciate everyone contributing their time, talents and resources to make this gathering possible and look forward to hosting guests for a memorable meal in recognition of all they have given to our country.”
The event starts at 2:00 p.m. in the lodge’s second-floor dining room in Old Towne Orange and will feature children’s activities, football, giveaways, gifts and a welcome program to recognize the service of military members and veterans. More than 30 volunteers will prepare and serve the meal, welcome guests and coordinate activities for children. With many attending families facing food or housing insecurity, the event is an opportunity for veterans, active-duty military members and their families to enjoy a holiday celebration as honored guests, surrounded by a community that recognizes and appreciates their service.
